One Book Many Neighbors

Join us at Basehor Community Library on Wednesday, June 21st for a discussion of Ripple, a KC true crime book, with author Jim Cosgrove - a "1 Book, Many Neighbors" program!

Registration information coming soon.

While working as a feature writer for the Albuquerque Journal in 1995, story-teller Jim Cosgrove picked up the trail of a cold case involving the disappearance of a family friend, Frank McGonigle, a lovable, hapless Grateful Dead fan who left his Kansas City home in 1982 and never returned. Ripple, which gives a nod to the 1970 Grateful Dead song, is the culmination of this long, strange journey in which Cosgrove uncovers connections to a ruthless  local crime boss in South Carolina and miscues from a threadbare sheriff’s department. A chance meeting with a soft-hearted psychic who provided freakishly accurate details about Frank’s death put Cosgrove face to face with the alleged killer.

"1 Book, Many Neighbors" is a collaborative Summer Reading Program for adults. Libraries from around the area come together to host a fun, interactive programs revolving around a set of short stories chosen by the libraries. This summer, participants will receive clues at each program that will help solve a crime! Stop by the library to grab your evidence log and learn more about the other programs.
