City events in Lansing are always well attended and enjoyed by all. The city hosts Brew, Blues and Bar-B-Q during the first weekend in May. This event includes a KCBS-sanctioned barbecue competition, Blues bands, inflatables for the kids, car show, quilt show and crafts booths.

The city also hosts an annual Independence Days celebration with a large fireworks display on or around the 4th of July. The display is coordinated to music and takes place at Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park, located about 2.5 miles west of the 4-H Road / K-7 intersection.

In October, Lansing's Fall Festival (formerly Autumn in the Grove) takes place along Angel Falls Trail near St. Francis de Sales Church where numerous booths are placed along the Trail. The booths host games and entertainment for children, crafts displays and food/drink vendors. Music is also part of the festivities, which run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
