Library Advisory Board Member: The Lansing Community Library Advisory Board advises the Library Director and the City Council on matters that relate to library services, policies, and funding. The Library Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Lansing Community Library.
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Member: Duties of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board members include studying and supporting the growth of park areas and recreation programs, advising the director on development and maintenance matters, and taking part in revisions of the Parks & Recreation section of the City's comprehensive plan. The Board also assists in creating policies, rules, and regulations for Parks & Recreation facilities and programs, and helps organize various Parks & Recreation events throughout the year. Volunteers are selected for two-year terms and are required to attend meetings, which occur on the second Thursday of January, March, May, September, and November.
Tree Board Member: The Lansing Tree Board plays an essential role in ensuring that the City of Lansing retains its status as a Tree City USA. Responsibilities include promoting the community forest, encouraging the public to plant trees, offering recommendations, and assisting in related events such as the City's Arbor Day Ceremonial Tree Planting. Volunteers are appointed for three-year terms and are required to attend meetings on the second Thursday of January, March, May, September, and November.
