Animal Control
The Lansing Police Department employs a part-time Animal Control Officer who works at various times throughout the week. Duties include:
- Enforcing animal control ordinances within the City
- Responding to animal complaints
- Maintaining licensing/rabies vaccination records
- Animal permit inspections
- Educating the public on animal control ordinances/issues

Licensing & Vaccination Information
All dogs and cats over the age of four (4) months old are required to be licensed within the city of Lansing.
Owners must provide a current rabies certificate for each animal owned, issued by a state licensed veterinarian, at time of licensing.
Licenses are issued to coincide with the animal's rabies vaccination.

Non-Spayed and Non-Neutered
1 year license ~ $15.00
2 year license ~ $30.00
3 year license ~ $45.00
Spayed and Neutered
1 year license ~ $7.50
2 year license ~ $15.00
3 year license ~ $20.00
Permit Requirement for More Than 4 Animals
