Don Studnicka

Council member Don Studnicka was first elected to the Lansing City Council in 1997. He has also served as the Council President on several occasions.

Council member Studnicka also serves as a Unit Commissioner for Lansing Troop 165 Boy Scouts of America. As a NRA Training Counselor and Certified Instructor, he is also a Commissioner and Committee member for the Shooting Sports Support Team (SSST) for Heart of America, BSA.

Studnicka is a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He is a member of VFW Post 12003 in Lansing and American Legion Post 331 in South Omaha, Neb.

Council member Studnicka graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel (LTC).

Council member Studnicka has been married to his wife, Barbara, since 1972. They have two children - David and Elizabeth, both graduates of Lansing High School. David was married to the former Joey Eck and they have two children, Sloane and Joseph. David passed away in 2019. Elizabeth is married to Weston Stratman and they have three children, Gabbie, Grace and Gianna.
