BERNARD BBQ BATTLE MEANS BERNARD PARK CLOSURE

Bernard Park will be closed to the public on Fri., May 13 and Sat., May 14 so that 30 BBQ teams can set up and compete in the Bernard BBQ Battle – formerly known as the Brew, Blues and Bar-B-Que competition. BBQ teams will begin arriving early Friday for this private Kansas City Barbeque Society event, which runs through Sat., May 14. Bernard Park will reopen to the public on Sun., May 15.

Prior to this year, the BBQ event was coupled with Lansing DAZE and was open to the public. Lansing DAZE activities now take place during the City’s Independence Days celebration, scheduled for July 2, 2022 at Town Center in Lansing.
