Youth Sports

Late registrations may not be accepted.

Interested in coaching? Applications for volunteer coaches are accepted online and in person at the office. Apply to be a coach through our Sports Registration site.

SOCCER (Spring & Fall)

Spring Registration: January 1st - 31st | Fall Registration: July 1st - 31st

Five divisions are offered: U6, U8, U10, U12, and U15. Please see the following chart for participant eligibility.

Spring Soccer practices begin in early March; games are played on Saturdays beginning in late March and running through May.

2024 Important Spring Season Information:

All scholarship requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 19th, 2024. Refunds will NOT be offered after the uniform/equipment order is placed on Friday, February 16th, 2024.

Fall Soccer practices begin mid-August; games are played on Saturdays beginning in September and running through October.

*2010* participants are only eligible if enrolled in 8th grade for the 2024/2025 school year

Baseball / Softball / T-Ball:

Registration: March 1st - 31st

All ages are as of June 1st of the current year.

Practices begin in early May; games start after the Memorial Day Holiday and run through mid-July.

2024 Important Season Information:

All scholarship requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 15th, 2024. Refunds will NOT be offered after the uniform/equipment order is placed on Friday, April 19th, 2024.

T-BALL:  Open to children ages 5 and 6.

BASEBALL / SOFTBALL:  There are four age divisions offered. All divisions of Softball are fast-pitch.

          8U (Coach Pitch): Ages 7 – 8

          10U: Ages 9 – 10

          12U: Ages 11 – 12

          15U: Ages 13 – 15

FLAG FOOTBALL:

Registration: July 1st - 31st

There are three age divisions offered in this program, participants must be enrolled in the following grades for the upcoming school year: 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, and 5th & 6th grade.

Practices begin in early August; games start in September and run through October.

CHEERLEADING:

Registration: July 1st - 31st

Children participating in this program will cheer for the Lansing Youth Football program offered by Lansing Parks & Recreation. Youths ages 5 to 12, as of August 31^st of the current year, may participate.

Practices begin in August; games start in September and run through October.

BASKETBALL:

Registration: October 1st - 31st

Children currently in 1st through 6th grades are eligible to participate.

Practices begin in December; games are played on Saturdays beginning in January and running through March. 

City-Sponsored Youth Events

David Trinkle Jr. Youth Fishing Derby

This event takes place on a Saturday in May at Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park.  Registration for this event is open to youth up to, and including, 15 years of age as of the day of the derby.  Registration fees include bait and a picnic lunch.  Prizes are given for numerous categories.

Spooky Center

A Halloween event is offered by the Parks & Recreation Department and the Lansing Community Library.  This event is scheduled for the Saturday before Halloween and offers various carnival games, prizes, and refreshments; all free. The event is offered for ages up to, and including, 8^th grade.
