WORK HAS BEGUN AT LANSING’S BERNARD PARK

City of Lansing contractors have begun construction of a new baseball/softball complex at Bernard Park. Weather permitting, construction activities should be completed by December 2022.

While efforts are being made to leave portions of Bernard Park open for public use during construction, large portions of the park and trails will need to be closed for safety reasons. See the attached graphic for information on restricted areas. During construction, it may be necessary to close some of the open areas shown and to possibly close the entire park during certain portions of construction. Park patrons are urged to be wary of contractors and their equipment moving throughout Bernard Park.

Sands Construction is the lead contractor on this project. The Lansing City Council approved the contract at its April 7, 2022 meeting. Bernard Park is located at 15650 Gilman Rd. and was named after former Lansing Mayor Kenneth W. Bernard in 2009.
