(A SUCCESSFUL) OPENING NIGHT AT LANSING’S BERNARD PARK BALLFIELDS

Mayor Tony McNeill and the Lansing Parks and Recreation Dept. celebrated the opening of the new baseball and softball complex on Mon. night, May 22. The event recognized the many volunteers who have served as coaches, sponsors and supporters of Lansing’s youth sports programs.

Festivities included a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by Ron Dixon. A ribbon cutting, ceremonial first pitch by Mayor McNeill, and scrimmage softball game also took place.  

The Bernard Park Baseball/Softball complex was designed by Vireo Landscape Architecture and Planning, MHS Engineers, VSR Design, SFS Architecture, PKMR Engineers and Stand Structural Engineering. Construction completed by general contractors Sands Construction, with their subcontractors Linaweaver Construction, Laven Electrical, Blue Cedar Landscape, Dayco Painting, Thompson Masonry, Quality Fence, Updike Paving, Bryant Heating and Cooling, MCS Plumbing, Kent Kramer Framing and Erosion Specialists.

The city of Lansing also acknowledges the support of Lan-Del Water, Evergy and the Kansas City Royals Charities.
