UPDATE 9.8.22: K-7/EISENHOWER ROAD INTERSECTION WORK CHANGES
UPDATE: Contractors for the city of Lansing are scheduled to CHANGE traffic/lane restrictions on the K-7/Eisenhower Rd. intersection improvement project on Mon., Sept. 12. Motorists can eventually expect multiple lane closures and detours due to the project. Alternative route planning is strongly suggested; Desoto Rd./Shrine Park Rd. or K-5 (Muncie Rd.) are detour routes that will save travelers’ time.
2021 saw the relocation of utilities for the project, which required temporary lane closures as they were moved out of the way. In 2019, KDOT awarded local governments $1.68 million for a cost share project with Lansing and Leavenworth to make safety and efficiency improvements. The total investment in the intersection will be more than $3 million through a cooperative agreement between the three parties.
See the attachment below for a description of the intersection project improvements.
